How It Works: Concentrating

Water is added to a concentration table to separate out the various metals out of the ore into barrels or buckets of concentrate at various quality levels. Water and gravity are used to pull out the gold from the ore, not toxic standard leaching methods, such as cyanide and mercury, endangering people and the environment.

Most metals in nature occur in their oxidized or sulfide form, and must be reduced to their metal forms. The concentrated ore is now dissolved into a non-harmful low-pH aqueous solution, and put into electro-winning tanks that use electric current to electroplate the refined purer metal onto cathodes.

Concentration

Now that you have concentrated the metals you want from the ore, the metals are separated, magnetics removed, and focus is on the particular metal desired.

Shaker Table

Further concentration is done on a shaker table, vibrating the ore with water and gravity to pull out the different metals at different weights into buckets and barrels of concentrate.

Dissolved in Solution

Metals in the ore occur in their oxidized or sulfide form, and must be now be dissolved into a green non-harmful low-pH aqueous solution that can be put into electrolysis.

Electro-winning

The aqueuos solution is placed into electro-winning tanks that use electric current to electroplate the purer metal onto cathodes, from which metal is collected for smelting.
